On-chain tournaments

As stated in the vision and introduction; the XR One chain is to be tailor maid for PvP gameplay and e-sports. In order to bring this vision to life, the XR chain will host smart contracts that lets games on XR One have collateralized tournaments on-chain.

Our PvP tournament smart contract introduces a new paradigm in competitive gaming, where players can engage in skill-based P2P contests without a facilitator. This contract democratizes the ability to host tournaments and empowers anyone—whether it's a gaming guild or a small group of friends—to create their own tournaments, fostering a diverse and dynamic competitive environment.

A key feature of this system is its contribution to the XR token economy. In every match, a percentage of the XR tokens involved is systematically removed from circulation, effectively increasing the scarcity and value of the remaining tokens. This mechanism not only enhances the excitement of participation but also creates a continuous value accrual for XR token holders. By enabling widespread access to tournament creation and participation, the platform not only democratizes competitive gaming but also aligns the interests of players and investors in the growth and sustainability of the XR ecosystem.

This infrastructure will be used by titles developed by Saltwater Games but is also extendable to any game, even games that are not on the XR One chain. This agnosticism feeds into the vision of XR One being a competitive layer for the entire Web 3 gaming ecosystem.
