What is $XR for?

$XR is the token powering the XR ecosystem. It is an ERC20 and the native token of XR One.

$XR can be bought and traded on Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum One. Games and assets on XR One denominate in the $XR token to serve the utility purposes of the blockchain and its games/dApps.

In-Game Transactions

$XR will be the primary in-game purchasing currency for primary sales from the games to the players. It will also function as the currency for other utility functions in-game including but not limited to maitntainence, forging, crafting and loot boxes.

Tooling

XR One is designed to support a range of game requirements and hosts a suite of tools that can be used to augment gaming experiences by utilising the $XR token, including Marketplaces, AI, and Fairplay functions.

Governance

Only $XR token holders who have contributed to XR One can participate in the DAO processes, requiring at least 1 $XR token to submit proposals or vote.

Governance using the $XR token will be decentralised over time and encompass more than XR One to include game-related and Play2Impact treasury allocation proposals and decisions.

Partnerships

As more games join XR One real-world partnerships will be developed to enable $XR to have collaborative value with IP and brands whose content is showcased on XR One. This includes using $XR to access discounted tickets to events, merchandise and early access to products.

Ecosystem Rewards

$XR tokens will be rewarded to nodes for their role in securing the network and facilitating gameplay enhancements such as AI and GPU compute augmentation.

Gamers who participate and contribute to beta testing and engagement with XR One games will be incentivised and rewarded for their active and passive data sharing. This data is used to deliver better games and tools for XR One gamers.

Content creators are welcomed to XR One and SDKs and other tooling will be made available and updated to enable the community to build new content for the games and be rewarded as gamers discover and engage with these experiences.

From time to time The XR Foundation will distribute $XR tokens to gamers and game publishers as a part of the acquisition strategy.

Network Gas

$XR will serve as the the designated gas token powering XR One transactions and securing the blockchain.

Security

The security of XR One relies on node runners. In addition to community-run nodes, core partners to XR One will also host Hero nodes and a portion of these fees will be returned to the Ecosystem Rewards pool and be released in-line with the vesting schedule.
